Theater at Monmouth Play Reviews

My summer performing as part of the 2019 Summer Repertory at the Theater of Monmouth was absolutely life changing. exchanging energy with different artists, learning, growing and challenging myself has has such a major impact on where I stand as a performer now. Bringing a story such as Intimate Apparel to an audience that has never seen theatre like that before was satisfying because I was instrumental in telling a story that matters and that hopefully broadened the perspectives of our audiences. I’m happy to share some positive reviews we received this season:

BWW Review - Intimate Apparel

"Kara Green, as Mayme, a prostitute who's a customer and friend to Esther, adds ebullience and a hint of poignancy as a lady of the evening not fully resigned to her status. Her playful, girlish conversations with Esther constitute one of the simplest of the several intimacies within the play."

BWW Review - Hamlet

"Green, as Horatio, manages to deliver a touching portrait of friendship - and in this case, having the Hamlet-Horatio relationship be a male/female friendship with a great deal of respect and equality lends an modern and moving touch."

Bangor Daily News

"Duffy, Martin and Kara Green (Mayme) complete the ensemble with complex and layered performances."

Hello There Summer!

It has been quite a while since I have updated you all! For the past month, I have been living in beautiful Maine, as I am part of the Theater at Monmouth’s Summer Acting Company. I am performing in ‘The Jungle Book,’ ‘Hamlet’ and’Intimate Apparel.’ I honestly feel so blessed to be having this experience and be immersed in such a supportive environment. It doesn’t hurt that Maine is absolutely serene! Pics to come!

New on the horizon!

Happy November lovely people! Here’s the deal. I have been silently working on a project with an amazing group of talented individuals for a while now, and I am happy to share that we are finally in pre-production of our Digital Series, B-Sides the Series!

B-Sides the Series is centered around the friendship of four women navigating public triumph and private pain; but when the illusions begin to dissolve, each woman grapples with what remains.

That being said, in preparation for entering into production mode, we have launched our Indiegogo campaign today, and I would love to share it with you all! If the spirit moves you, feel free to take a glance, share on your social media, and if you are feeling extra generous, donate! We are committed to putting together a top quality project and the fun has just begun. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and enjoy the video!!

Hello people! The wonderful new project I'm apart of, Lucy's Sick, which is an immersive theatrical affair drawing inspiration from Shakespeare's King Richard III,  investigates the systematic marginalization and mistreatment of women through the lens of Hollywood's Golden Age.

On Monday night, Lucy’s Sick threw a lavish shindig to celebrate and raise funds for the project, which was a major success!

At the gala, we celebrated the true stars, our supporters! It was an elegant evening of food, cocktails, and entertainment.
